Independent presidential advisor joins KCCA to cleanup downtown
The independent Presidential Advisor on Trade and Investment and chairman of Truxor company in Uganda, Dr . Jim Tubuhaburwa, over the weekend joined the top leadership of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), and others, to clean up some places in downtown, Kampala. Dr. Jim said that they will continue supporting the efforts of cleaning Kampala and other significant areas in Uganda. Some of the activities took place are; waste evacuation, cleaning up, and Tree planting in areas; Ben Kiwanuka, Luwum Street, William Street, Namirembe Road and Nasser Road.

“Leadership managed to join KCCA to clean up kampala in downtown. And we shall continue rendering our support. During our cleaning near Mapeera house, We managed to arrest a wrongdoer (kifesi) who was attacking people with pavers. Let’s keep safe and keep our city clean “, Tubuhaburwa said. In her submission, the KCCA Executive Director, Sharifa Buzeki, appreciated everyone who joined the cause. She advised the general public to always avoid littering and also use the available bins in order to keep the City clean.

“I want to sincerely thank every partner ,resident, trader, volunteer, and staff member who braved the rain to support our Cleaning and Greening Kampala campaign today. From cleaning arcades to clearing hidden dumpsites and planting fresh grass,flowers along our road islands, you proved that transformation is possible when we work together. As we reclaim our pedestrian corridors, let us protect the green spaces, trees, and walkways”, she said.
The Executive Director continued to advise the general public to not litter. “Avoid littering, use available bins, and report illegal dumping. A clean city is not maintained by KCCA alone it is sustained by the daily actions of its people. To our vendors, I thank those who have embraced relocation and encourage full compliance from the rest of the vendors for our streets to remain accessible, safe and for all”, she ended.
