MARIAM NDAGIRE READY FOR CONCERT AFTER YEARS OF FOCUSING ON FILMMAKING

After years of focusing on filmmaking and taking aback seat from active music performance, veteran Ugandan entertainer Mariam has finally given her fans a music experience in December 11th 2026.

The celebrated actress, singer,director and producer has promised to stage a major concert after years of focusing on film ,marking her long awaited return to the stage after years of dedicating her energy to the country’s growing film industry.

For many years, Ndagire has been one of the leading figures shaping Uganda’s creative sector, while many fans have missed her soulful voice and stage performance ,Ndagire shifted her attention to nurturing talent, producing films and mentoring young generation through her film academy and production projects.

Speaking during a media engagement on June 16th at Bat valley theater, Mariam Ndagire revealed that the success she has earned in the film industry has inspired her to reconnect with her fans who have supported her throughout her music career.

“People have been always asking me, when are you giving us a concert because they refused to know that I gave up on singing, they say have rested for so long it time I give them a concert. This year has been so good to me in the film industry , I have got eight nominations in UFF(Uganda Film Festival ) and also have got nominations in Zanzibar Film Festival and also in Nigeria. It has opened doors for me and given opportunity to impact young people , so I believe it is now time to give back to my fans through music.” She said
Ndagire Mariam last held a full solo concert in 2009 for her Majangwa album after which she took she extended herself to focus on her film career.
She added that, she would have done the concert earlier but because of the stress which comes along with concerts yet she was still working on film production and still looking for the wright production to work with , because her previous shows her fans remained outside, and this time around she has decided trusted to work with Urban life production for her best music experience after decades without a music show
Ndagire’s contribution to Uganda’s entertainment industry extends far beyond music, through film, theater which has played a critical role in developing local talent and promoting Ugandan stories on both local and international platforms from being a singer to filmmaker which has been praised in Uganda’s film sector.
