Biography of Innocent Kayiza

Early Life and Education
Kayiza Innocent is a Ugandan press associate and author known for his dedication to reporting current affairs and environmental issues. He pursued a diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication, at Uganda institute of business and media studies. He acquired competences in business accounting and media studies complemented by studies in computer networking, which gave him both technical and communication skills to thrive in the media industry.
Career Beginnings
Innocent began his career in electronic media around 2009 working with various media stations stations including Tv, and News paper companies like the Observer News paper, ABC Africa Newspaper, The Sunrise Newspaper and several online News platforms.
His early reporting focused on business reporting and health and Education reporting, before transitioning into a broader investigative journalism.
His contributions to the different News companies strengthened his reputation as a reliable reporter of current news and regional affairs.
Over time, Innocent specialized in environmental and climate change reporting, becoming recognized as a multi-award-winning investigative journalist.
He has reported extensively on wildlife trafficking, biodiversity, pollution, and climate change, earning fellowships and recognition from organizations such as the Reuters Institute, Aga Khan University, and Oxford Climate Journalism Network (OCJN).
